Huge school cone

Deutsch

What you need:

four sheets of card stock (about 70cm x 50cm / 2.3ft x 1.6ft),

ruler,

scissors,

pencil,

stapler,

one roll of crepe paper (at least 2m / 2yd long),

curling ribbon

Use thick card stock.

Otherwise the school cone won't be stable enough.

Draw a line from the middle of the short bottom edge to each top corner.

Draw another line about 1 to 2 cm / 1" next to the first ones.

These stripes are used for gluing the parts together later.

Cut out the triangles.

Fold the stripes at the sides up.

Shorten the stripes at the tip, otherwise they don't fit

into the tip of the school cone.

Put the edges next to each other and staple them together.

Finally, staple the first and the last edge together as well on the inside.

Put the crepe paper around the rim of the school cone.

Staple the edges together.
Fold the crepe paper up.

Fill the school cone and tie it up with curling ribbon.

Tip: If you use thin card stock, you might want to stabilize the rim with wooden sticks. The sticks should be about 50 cm / 1.6ft long. Stick the ends of the wooden sticks together and glue them onto the rim of the school cone on the inside with adhesive tape.
