Hexagon lamp

Deutsch

What you need:

fuse beads (full-coloured and translucent),

large hexagon-shaped pegboard(s),

greaseproof paper or baking parchment,

dry iron,

pair of tweezers,

wire,

fairy lights

There are different kinds of fuse beads. For the lamps you use both full-coloured and translucent ones. Light will shine through the translucent beads later.
Fill the pegboard completely with beads. You can follow a certain pattern or apply the beads at random.

When you have finished applying the beads, preheat the dry iron.
Cover the beads with a piece of greaseproof paper and iron them until they fuse.

Let the beads cool down some time and remove them from the pegboard. Iron the back as well.

Make three more of these plates.
Let all plates cool down. Cut off a long piece of crafting wire. Optionally you can also use strong thread (and a needle).
Connect the edges of the first two plates with each other by threading the wire through the outer rows of beads. The connection should be so flexible that you can move the plates like a hinge.

The third plate is applied to one side of the connected plates in such a way that there is one edge left between the first and the third plate.

Bend the three plates into a ring and connect them with wire.

Apply the fourth plate to the top with wire as well.

Bind the fairy lights together and put them into the lamp.

IMPORTANT!!! Only use cold light for all kinds of fuse bead lamps. Lights that become hot will let fuse beads melt. So be careful with any kind off light that produces heat!!!

Tip: For putting the flex away elegantly omit four beads at one corner of the pegboard when making one plate.
You will get a small hole through which you can pull the flex.
