What you need:
piece of fabric with Advent calendar motif,
thread,
needle,
red, green, and white silk paper,
curling ribbon,
chocolates,
posterboard/card stock,
stapler,
glue,
cotton wool
In various craft shops you can buy fabrics on which the motif of an Advent calendar is printed. Usually there is a Christmas motif and the numbers from one to 24.
But you can also design the calendar yourself. For example, draw a house onto a large sheet of card stock. Your children can colour the house.
Glue or staple the fabric onto a sheet of posterboard.
If you want more stability,
you
can also stick the posterboard onto a sheet of card stock.
Apply glue onto the edges of the sheet and stick some cotton wool onto it.
Wrap a piece of silk paper around each chocolate.
Tie the ends of the paper together with two pieces of curling ribbon like a
candy.
Using a needle, pull a piece of thread through each square with a number.
Tie the chocolates to the thread.
Pull a piece of thread through the sheet or make a hole into the sheet for
hanging.
