What you need:
red velvet, (about 1yd x 1.5yd),
pattern
sock,
needle and thread or sewing machine,
ribbon or other,
cord,
little hangers,
slat (about 1yd x 4"),
cotton wool,
24 little presents,
aluminium foil,
staples
Print the pattern and cut it out.
Put the pattern onto the wrong side of the velvet and apply it 24 times with tailor's
chalk.
Cut out the socks with some extra allowance because the outline will be the seam later.
If you are a sewing beginner, leave a margin of at least an
inch.
Fold the seam allowance at the top down so that it is on the wrong side of the velvet.
Stitch close to the edge.
As an alternative,
you can also fold the upper edge down when the sock is completely sewn later.
Put the two sides of the sock together with the right sides on the inside.
Sew the sock together along the outline. Leave the sock open at the top.
Cut off the seam allowance.
Turn the sock onto the right side.
Stuff the sock with cotton wool.
Wrap pieces of aluminium foil around the little presents.
Put each present into a sock.
Apply a hanger to each sock.
Apply 24 staples into one side of the slat.
Apply two more staples onto the other side for
hanging.
Pull a piece of ribbon through the two staples for hanging.
Hang the socks onto the staples.
You can leave the slat like that or you can decorate it further.
