What you need:
two reels of
curling ribbon (500yd),
masking
tape,
chair or stool with straight legs
Turn the chair upside down.
Take one reel of ribbon and tie its end to one leg of the chair.
Note: The nearer the legs of the chair lie together, the bigger and shorter the pom poms will
be.
Wind the ribbon round two of the chair legs until there isn’t any ribbon left on the reel. Try to do it as evenly as
possible.
This procedure might take some time and yes, indeed, it might become a little boring. Nevertheless, try to keep the ribbon tight so that it doesn’t become
loose.
When you have unwound the ribbon, take a piece of tear-proof string and tie the strings of ribbon
together.
This works best if you tie it next to one chair leg.
When you have tied the strings of ribbon together properly, remove them from the chair legs. (If you have wound the ribbon too tightly, you can cut it off as well at the opposite side of the knot.)
Press the ribbon together firmly where the knot is.
For a better grip,
wind round masking tape several times.
If you haven’t done it before, cut through the strings of ribbon at the opposite end.
For the second pom pom, do it all again with the second reel. Use the same chair so that the pom poms will be equal in
length.
