What you need:
wooden clothes
pegs/pins,
wood glue
Separate the clothes pegs in half.
Glue eight clothes pegs next to each other.
The tops show to the left and to the right alternately.
The flat side of the clothes pegs shows up.
Glue 18 clothes pegs next to each other.
This time all tops show in one
direction.
Make another plate in the same size.
Glue the two larger plates onto the flat side of the smaller plate.
Stick the bevelled part to the small plate. The flat side shows up.
Now the surface of the pencil tray is sloping.
Of course you can also paint or varnish the pencil tray.
