Large school cone

Deutsch

What you need:

sheet of card stock (about 70cm x 50cm / 2.3ft x 1.6ft),

adhesive tape,

scissors,

crepe paper,

glue,

stapler,

curling ribbon,

string,

pencil,

cardboard,

thumbtack/pushpin

First create a large compass.
Cut off a piece of string that is as long as the short edge of the card stock sheet (about 60cm / 2ft). Tie one end of the string to the tack, the other to the pencil.
Put a piece of cardboard under one corner of the card stock sheet. Pin the tack into the card stock near the edge.

Draw a quarter of a circle onto the card stock.

Cut out the quarter of a circle...

... and roll it into the shape of a school cone.
Glue the edges together. As the card stock might be inflexible, it is easier to create the school cone with two persons. One person holds the cone, the other sticks the edges together. You can also staple the edges together at the top.

You can use glue or double-faced adhesive tape for gluing the edges together.
You can wrap adhesive tape around the tip of the cone as well. Cover the tape with crepe paper.

Cut out a piece of crepe paper.

Glue the crepe paper around the tip of the school cone.

Now the tip looks nice and is stable as well.

Cut off a long stripe of crepe paper (about 90cm to 100cm / 1yd). Put the crepe paper around the school cone so that the edge of the crepe paper and the edge of the school cone are on top of each other.

Staple the crepe paper to the school cone.

Fold the crepe paper up.

Fill the school cone with sweets or presents.
Tie the school cone up with a piece of curling ribbon.

That's it!
