What you need:
one canvas (8 in x 8 in),
glue for napkin technique,
brush,
paint,
scissors,
napkin with motif (one quarter of the napkin),
battery-operated miniature fairy lights,
adhesive tape
Ground the canvas completely with paint and let it dry.
Cut one quarter out of the napkin and separate the layers of the napkin.
You
only need the uppermost layer on which the motif is printed.
Apply some glue for napkin technique onto the canvas and place the napkin in the centre. Carefully brush the glue on the napkin always from the centre towards the edges so that the napkin does not crease too
much.
Finally, the canvas should be completely covered with glue. Let everything dry.
Make as many small holes into the canvas as there are lights. Distribute the lights so that they fit the motif.
Put the lights through the holes from behind.
Stick the fairy lights to the frame with adhesive tape.
