What you need:

24 empty matchboxes,

glue,

red corrugated paper,

red card stock,

at least 24 beads,

patterned or blank paper,

craft wire,

star shapes,

gloss marker pen,

needle, adhesive tape

Glue the matchboxes together into a block.

Each vertical row should consist of six matchboxes,

each horizontal row of four matchboxes.

Stick corrugated paper onto the sides, top and bottom of the block.

Cover the back with card stock too.

The front is covered with paper as well. Cut small pieces out of paper that fit the fronts of the little drawers of the matchboxes. Stick the paper onto the drawers. In the example, we used transparent paper with a star pattern.

But you can also design the drawers in various colours.

String one or two beads on a piece of wire. Twist the wire together behind the beads.

Using a needle, make a small hole into the middle of the front of each drawer.

Pull the wire through this hole. Bend the ends of the wire apart inside the drawer.

Fix them to the drawer with a small piece of adhesive tape.

You need the beads for opening the drawers later.

Insert the drawers into the matchboxes.

Decorate the calendar with star shapes.

Write the numbers from one to 24 onto the drawers with a gloss marker pen.
