What you need: 

long, 

broad glass, 

long candle, 

wax, 

tin can

Put the candle into the glass. 
Important: The sides of the glass should be quite thick, otherwise it might break when you remove the candle later. 

Alternatively, you can also use long plastic cups or a tube.

Put the wax into the tin can. Heat some water in a pot. 

Put the tin can into the pot to melt the wax.
Pour the wax into the glass around the candle. If you want to create a candle with layers of different colours, pour the colours into the glass one after another.

Let the wax dry.
To remove the candle from the glass, put the glass into hot water and remove the wax carefully from the glass using a warm, flat knife.
If the candle inside is too large, cut off the protruding part.
