Ingredients:
ready-made cake (as round and flat as possible),
sugar hearts,
chocolate glaze or red sugar icing,
scissors,
cake cards,
pencil,
knife,
heart-shaped cake tin (if
existing)
Mix a cake dough. You can use your own recipe or buy a cake mix.
Fill the dough into a heart-shaped cake tin and bake the cake.
Remove the cake from the tin. Coat the cake with red sugar icing. You can also write a message on the cake with sugar icing.
That's
it!
Don't worry if you only have round cake tins.
You can use one of these as well or even buy a ready-made
cake.
Draw a heart onto the round cake with red sugar icing. You can also create a heart pattern out of a cake card and cut a heart out of the cake.
Draw a heart onto a cake card with a pencil. Cut the heart out.
 
Put the pattern on top of the cake and cut along the outline with a knife.
 
Coat the cake heart with chocolate glaze and sprinkle sugar hearts into the glaze.
Put the cake onto a cake plate. It looks nice if you put a paper doily under the cake. On Valentine's Day you may even want to use a red or pink paper
doily.
