Birdhouse

Deutsch

What you need:

craft sticks,

wood glue,

clear varnish

Put two craft sticks parallel to each other.

Glue a third stick to the two lower ends of the sticks.

Now apply more sticks next to that...

...until the two parallel sticks are completely covered with sticks.

Let the glue dry. You need eight of these plates.

Put two plates next to each other with the flat side down.

Connect the two plates with each other by gluing several sticks onto them.

You need two of these big plates.
Glue the two big plates together along their long sides in a right angle.

One plate will become the bottom of the birdhouse,

the other will be the back wall.

It is easier to glue the parts together if you use angles.

These are quickly made:

Just glue two sticks together along

their long sides in a right angle and let them dry.

Apply glue to the angles and put them into the corners.
Stick two small plates to the left and to the right as side walls.

You can use angles for gluing these as well.

Cut two sticks in half. (Use a pair of secateurs for that.)

Put two half sticks parallel to each other.

Glue a third stick to the two lower ends of the sticks.

Now apply more sticks next to that until the two parallel sticks

are completely covered with sticks

(as you have done before for the small plates).

Make two of these half plates.

Put a small and a half plate next to each other.

Connect the two plates with each other by gluing several sticks onto them.

Connect the two plates that are left (one small and one half plate) as well.

These are the plates for the roof.

When the glue is dry, stick the plates together along their short sides

in a right angle with the help of angles.

The small plates should be in the middle.

Apply one angle to the inside and one to the outside.

Apply glue to the upper edges of the birdhouse and put the roof on top.

You can use extra sticks here, too, to stabilize your birdhouse.

Let the birdhouse dry.
Apply clear varnish to make it weatherproof.
