What you need:
corrugated cardstock,
round and empty cheese box,
scissors,
knife,
transparent paper
(e.g. coloured cellophane or parchment / greaseproof / wax paper),
glue,
pencil
Cut out a piece of corrugated cardstock that is about 10 x 12 in large.
If the cheese box is larger, your piece of cardstock of course needs to be larger, too. So, measure the circumference of the cheese box
first.
Draw two rectangles onto the piece of cardstock. Leave a margin so that there is enough space for gluing. Cut out the rectangles.
Cut two rectangles out of transparent paper that are a little larger than the cardstock
ones.
Glue the transparent paper onto the flat side of the cardstock.
If you have used white transparent paper, you can also stick small motifs in another colour onto it.
Glue the cardstock around the cheese box.
Make two small holes into the upper rim of the lantern on opposite sides.
Pull a piece of string or wire through the holes for
hanging.
