Ingredients:
250 grams / 9 oz butter,
125 grams / 4½ oz sugar,
3 egg yolks,
100 grams / 3½ oz ground hazelnuts,
350 grams / 12½
flour,
pinch of salt,
optionally red jam,
icing sugar,
red food colouring
Beat butter and sugar until creamy.
Add hazelnuts, flour and salt and knead well into a dough.
Put the dough into the refrigerator for about an hour.
Knead the dough again. Roll out onto a surface covered slightly with flour.
Cut out
hearts.
If you have biscuit/ cookie cutters in two different sizes, you can create biscuits filled with jam. Just cut out two large hearts. Cut a small heart out of one of the large ones. Then stick the two large hearts on top of each other with some jam and fill the hole with jam,
too.
Preheat the oven to 190°. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes.
Watch out that the biscuits won't burn.
Stir icing sugar with water. Add food colouring. Coat the biscuits with the icing.
You can also sprinkle hundreds and thousands or small sugar hearts onto the icing before it is
dry.
