What you need:
black cardstock,
transparent paper
(e.g. coloured cellophane or parchment / greaseproof / wax paper),
scissors,
art knife or carpet cutter,
glue,
ruler,
pencil,
hole-punch,
wire
Draw a square onto the sheet of cardstock (at least 10 x 10 in).
Cut out the
square.
Then draw four equilateral triangles onto the cardstock, too.
Their sides need to be as long as the sides of the
square.
Cut off one vertex parallel to the base line.
Depending on the size of the triangle, you can cut off about 2.5 to 5 in.
Then cut out the inside off the triangle leaving only a margin of about 1 in.
Draw trapeziums onto transparent paper that are a little larger than the windows in the triangles (about 0.5 in).
Cut out the trapeziums and glue them onto the
triangles.
To connect the triangles to the bottom (square), you'll need to cut four stripes out of cardstock that are about 1 in broad and a little shorter than the sides of the
square.
Fold the stripes in half along their long edges.
Glue one side of the stripe onto one edge of the square.
The other side of the stripe points upwards. Repeat it with the remaining three stripes so that the square has a complete
rim.
Now stick the triangles to this rim.
The side with the transparent paper is on the
inside.
Cut four more stripes out of cardstock that are about 1 in broad, but only half as long as the sides of the
square.
Fold these stripes in half along their long edges, too.
Apply some glue onto the stripes and connect the triangles with each other with the stripes.
Finally, make two small holes into the upper edge of the pyramid. Pull a piece of wire through the holes for
hanging.
